APSI has extensive experience performing structural analyses on aerospace structures as well as developing software to allow the customer to perform their own analyses. The SABER airfoil modeling code has been developed in association with NASA Glenn Research Center. | |
SABER utilizes Non-Uniform Rational B-Splines (NURBS) to model the geometry of an airfoil and to “map” analytical data onto the surface of the airfoil. This methodology allows for a more seamless exchange of data between engineering disciplines (CFD <> FEA). Development to expand the functionality of SABER is currently underway to allow SABER to help size the components of a preliminary engine design and perform a mass audit of the proposed design. A specialized finite element solver has been added to SABER to aid in the effort of optimizing the engine components. |
